Terms of Service

Welcome. These terms keep things clear between you and Moxie & Mac, LLC, the company behind A Holy Start. By creating an account or using aholystart.com, you agree to them.

What A Holy Start is

A Holy Start is a daily rhythm of Scripture, reflection, and journaling. It is offered as spiritual encouragement. It is not medical care, mental-health treatment, or professional counseling, and it is not a substitute for any of those. If you are in a season that needs more than encouragement, please reach for it; a doctor, a counselor, or a trusted person in your life can walk with you in ways an app cannot. If you are in crisis in the United States, you can call or text 988 any hour of any day.

Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Younger children are welcome to participate alongside a parent or guardian, through the parent's account.
• Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your sign-in.
• Give us a real email address, since it is how you recover your account and how we reach you if something important changes.

Your words stay yours

Everything you write in A Holy Start belongs to you. We claim no ownership of your entries, prayers, or reflections. You give us only the narrow technical permission needed to store your words and show them back to you, which is the entire point of the app. Our Privacy Policy describes how they are protected.

What belongs to us

The app itself: its artwork, its words outside your journal, its design, its name, and its code, belong to Moxie & Mac, LLC or its licensors. Scripture quotations are used under their respective translation licenses. You may not copy, resell, or build a competing service from the app's content.

Being a good guest

Do not attempt to break the app's security, probe other users' data, overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful. That is the whole list; we trust you with the rest.

Honest limits

A Holy Start is offered as it is, in active and loving development, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep your words safe and the doors open, and we cannot promise perfection. To the fullest extent the law allows, Moxie & Mac, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose (at present, nothing, since A Holy Start is free).

Ending things

You may stop using A Holy Start at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account and everything in it, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, and if the service itself ever winds down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to retrieve your words first.

Housekeeping

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and note the change in the app. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stand.
