Privacy Policy
Effective August 1, 2026
Your words are yours. This page explains, plainly, what A Holy Start collects, how it is protected, and what we will never do with it.
Who we are
A Holy Start (aholystart.com) is operated by Moxie & Mac, LLC. If you have any question this page does not answer, write to liz@lizredefined.com and a real person will reply.
What we collect
- Your account. An email address and a password, or your Google sign-in. This is how we know which grove is yours.
- Your writing. Journal entries, reflections, prayers, rhythms, and settings you create inside the app. These exist so the app can hold them for you, and for no other reason.
- Preferences on your device. We use your browser's local storage to remember choices like text size and season, and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers, and we do not run analytics scripts that follow you across the web.
How your writing is protected
Everything travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is stored encrypted at rest with our database provider, Supabase. Access is walled at the database level: rules enforced by the database itself ensure that each account can only ever read and write its own rows. No user can reach another user's words.
We do not read your entries. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. We do not use your writing to train artificial intelligence. There are no advertisers here.
Find Your Why
If you choose to use the Find Your Why reflection, your four answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude, the AI service that composes your Why statement, and are handled under Anthropic's commercial terms, which do not permit training on your data. Your answers are used to write your statement and are not kept by us beyond that purpose.
Google user data
If you connect Google Calendar, A Holy Start requests access to your calendar events only to show them inside the app and to create or remove events you ask it to. We do not store copies of your calendar on our servers, we do not share Google data with anyone, and no human reads it. Google user data is never used with, transferred to, or processed by any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning service, including the AI service that powers Find Your Why. You can disconnect at any time from your Google Account permissions page, which immediately ends our access.
A Holy Start's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
Accounts require you to be at least 13 years old, in keeping with United States law on children's data. A Holy Start is written for adults, and younger children are warmly welcome to take part alongside a parent or guardian, through the parent's account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your entries stay as long as your account does, so that nothing you wrote is ever quietly lost. If you want your account and everything in it deleted, email liz@lizredefined.com from your account's address and we will permanently delete your account and all of your data within 30 days, and confirm when it is done.
When this page changes
If our practices change, this page will change first, with a new effective date above. A change will never quietly reduce the protection of what you have already written.
